WHAT SEASON ARE YOU IN?

Do you ever find yourself silently asking “how did I get here?”  Sifting through the past, desperately trying to pinpoint what led to a place thick with uncertainty, and maybe, even fear. In those moments, remember that there is peace in the willingness to celebrate life in its totality — the joy and the pain. Life is marked by seasons, and each is uniquely designed to lead you to personal growth and a deeper understanding of your journey. Incessantly ruminating about the past or the future robs you of the experience in each moment and, potentially, discolors the gift of that season.

Just as your best days aren’t perfect, your best seasons won’t be free of discomfort. It may be tough to understand in the midst of uncertainty, but challenging periods serve a purpose beyond the immediate pain. So, resist the urge to fight against the current and allow each season to unfold. You will have periods when new connections are formed, but you will also experience periods of release. Accept change, allow others to discover their own paths and make space in your heart for new bonds. Understand that setbacks aren’t failures, but simply delays which often lead to the of discovery something much more profound. Welcome these periods of gestation for what they are; a gift of time needed for maturation and strength, preparing you to move into the next season with power and grace.

It’s easy to celebrate seasons that usher in clarity, joy and abundance. But, despite our best intentions, periods of uncertainty may trigger unease. I'm certainly not immune to this but I’m finding that, for me, those visits are shorter and less frequent. I’m learning to let life unfold at its pace, while discovering new ways to celebrate each moment. With every seasonal shift, I become a better and stronger version of myself. Presently, I'm in a season of self-discovery, uncovering who I am independent of children and a partner. While I’m eager to learn her and discover what’s ahead, I’m intentional about enjoying the journey. No matter what season you’re currently in, experience it joyfully and wholly; dance, laugh belly deep, cry profoundly and celebrate each step of your journey.
